I'll try to provide a brief summation of the three glorious weeks we spent at Club O. We spent 95% of our time at Club O and on the beautiful beach there. We stayed in a Garden Chalet and the extra room is wonderful for entertaining. We spent several evenings having "community" dinners with Club O friends. Food at Papagayos was good, but the entertainment on a couple nights was pretty weak. The beach was as wide as I've ever seen it! We saw so many friends that we had met there in years past. I'd try to name some of them, but I'd forget some so I don't want to do that. It still amazes me how many people come back to SXM the same time each year for years and years. We had such fun "fishing" for cruisers. We were invited to our friends from Arkansas renewing their wedding vows on the beach to celebrate their 25th anniversary--that was really special. We celebrated our 30th anniversary with good friends sharing champagne on the beach on June 9. That's something we'll always remember. We also went with friends on the Tiko Tiko one day--that was a blast! We had so much fun (and so much rum punch). The food was fabulous and we made some great new friends. We also went to Loterie Farm one night for dinner at the restaurant there. It was superb! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was wonderful. We also ate at the rib place in Grand Case one evening--not impressed. Baywatch was great as usual--my wife thinks the margarita shrimp are the best--a little too spicy for my taste; I prefer the beer-battered shrimp. We went with our special friends to a couple other beaches--Baie Rouge and Happy Bay. We encountered a "bushwacker" at Baie Rouge--that was interesting. The weather was wonderful; a shower usually early morning, then beautiful sunshine the rest of the day. We also enjoyed watching the planes land and take off from Sunset Beach Bar and Grill on the day of our departure. Our friends gave us a ride to the airport and we had to have a cheeseburger at Sunset before we returned to the real world. Sand gravity is the best on Orient Beach, but the great people we've met there keeps us coming back year after year. We're booked for three weeks--late May, early June again next year!
