Does anyone know if Scrub still offers a TTOL discount as they have in the past? We will be there the first week in May. Is there someone to email at Scrub? I have not had much luck in the past getting a response through their website. Thanks!

Recent reports here show that even if you have a "reservation" for a slip at Scrub, it is still "first come, first served" so I don't think I'd sign up to pre-pay for anything....I have only ever stayed in a slip there once and was sufficiently underwhelmed. I'd much rather hang out in Marina Cay - and I understand Pussers is in the hands of a team that's doing a great job so that's a definite bonus

We are going to be down May 4th - 14th. I called Scrub(877-890-7444) to see if the were running any specials. I was told that they were not offering anything, and she didn't think they would be doing any TTOL discounts till September. I am planning on skipping Scrub again this year. Too many other nice places to go for far less money.

Yup, Marina Cay is being spruced up these days and it's looking good!

Paul Mason (previous owner/chef of the Clubhouse Restaurant at Frenchman's Cay) is now the food and beverage manager for Pussers.

Paul and his wife Cindy are living in the Manager's house at the top of the hill now. Cindy is managing the place and is doing a great job of whipping it back into shape.

Definitely worth stopping there these days!

I would turn anyone I knew against going to Scrub based on my last experience.

I would LOVE someone to have a video of me docking there in the slipper tight slip they gave me. And...would LOVE it if any one has a video of my Leverick docking to delete it forever.

I learned a hard lesson. use the wind/currents to your advantage. A decent bow-thruster is no match for a 30kts blow at "the crucial time". I used that lesson when I single handed the poor mono that hadn't learned my "hard lesson" He did the same thing I did, before I learned.

Kim, love your posts, see you in 5 weeks with country girl and the bartender.

What I learned docking at scrub in a mono is that if the wind is strong and you are backing in and the wind is off the bow, then you start backing in outside the dock area - this way you have control the whole way..

worse. backwinded bow to. pushed into dock with a 20kts wind. it was EPIC!!!
4 inches of clearance on either side. My co-pilot reported our beam at 13.2, when I corrected her....to 14.2...they had to "measure"

Last slip available, even though we made out "quote-un-qoute" "reservation" two months prior, with the proper dimensions.

How could you get fenders between you and the dock?

I'll vouch for Hallucination on that docking job. We were on the other side of the finger pier & had the same unbelievable conditions. He definitely had to squeeze in there. George, we literally had to squish the fenders in between us & the boat next to us on one side & the dock on the other as we backed in. (I have pictures but don't have them uploaded to a photo hosting site.)
It was crazy!

If I can't be a good example, I'll just have to be a horrible warning. [Linked Image]
