So the plan was to head up to the North Sound but plans change readily down here …. We ended up at Trellis Bay for the night. Our bilge pump failed so we needed to replace it. Call around to various places and found exactly what we needed at Marine Depot…and the wonderful man who runs the spot happens to live 5 minutes from Trellis so will deliver- folks are just so helpful in BVI. For any of you boat owners Richard Henry was his name and he was sooo great to deal with. He gave us his business card for future needs –

He runs the Marine Depot and also has a business / machine shop in Nanny Cay – BVI Marine Management Inc–BIG shout out to him.. he will have our business in the future.

Into pic up the parts and of course snapped some shots while in there….sun is sinking and illuminating the bay nicely .

Back aboard and after the installation and boat work is done we settle in with happy hour cocktails

and then a delicious steak BBQ aboard with lots of red wine….loved our meals aboard this trip. My friend Nancy is an amazing cook and her hubby chooses the best red wine ever. We drank and ate very well for two weeks!! I will be choosing my stretchy clothes upon my return to work to accommodate the vacation bulges.

Another great evening of conversation and world problem solving followed by a restful night- the evenings have been so crisp clear and fresh during our entire stay. Did not use the breeze boosters once and very few hatch dances.

Ok up and ready for our last sail of the trip – Leverick bound we go. Another frisky sail- the winds are up these next few days , gusting to 30 at times. Reefs in and we are off.

As we round the turn and head in I see the familiar red roofs of Leverick in the distance and I have ambivalent feelings. We are home but that also means we are headed home in the next few days. I hate when that happens…but all good things must come to an end I guess.

Ok before we worry about heading home we have to get this thing landed in this gusty sporty wind. We will be stern in on the out side …fenders placed and lines ready and the amazing Tito and Troy are there to catch as Captain Ward works his magic and we secured safely. Another tricky maneuver.

Dharma is here …

…and Hallucinations came in shortly after we landed. Hi Robert and Linda – come aboard - Drinks are in order in the cockpit.

Hang out for the afternoon then spent the evening with our BVI family at the Duck and Dive with a nice visit from Kristine, Doug and crew. Early night as we need to get ready for guest departure in the morning and start the “ ready the boat for next partner” work.

So sad to have this incredible adventure coming to a close. We sooo enjoyed their company. Off they go mid morning and off we go to start the cleaning, laundry and packing process. We balanced the weekend with needed tasks , relaxation and fun.
Leverick is so darn pretty especially in the morning.

Sunday afternoon brings Cheese Burgers in paradise ( literally) in the tree house overlooking gorgeous Leverick Bay. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality Mr and Mrs Willis. …after a wonderful evening of stories, great conversation and too many beverages we head off to bed with the alarm set ( first time in 2 weeks) . Not looking forward to the Monday early morning departure. The taxi collects us at 05:00 as arranged and we are settled at the dock in Spanishtown ready for our 5:30 ferry…..

Funny story…we wait and wait and wait and then decide Ok this is not normal for Speedy’s to be this late…Well, the usually well organized Kim has disappeared over the last 2 weeks and was replaced by relax mode, don’t worry be happy Kim who did not check on departure time …low and behold the Ferry time was actually 5 not 5:30…Ok now what.? Our Cape Air flight leaves at 7 and the next ferry is 8:30….Call to cape air to check out our options and get booked on the 10:15. Our flight leaves SJU at 11:50…will we make it ….OH god who cares I don’t have to be to work until Wednesday morning … we will figure it out…in the meantime - look the parking lot bar truck is opened…Beer ?? says Ward… well of course says Kim. Why stop now?

We spent a very entertaining few hours watching the local Easter festival stragglers dressed in their party cloths and body paint stagger to the Road Town 7 and 8 Am Ferries. A DJ showed up around 7:30 and began playing. Apparently Easter Monday is a big deal around here also.

Long story short –we are glass half full folks and we made the best of a bad situation, had some more breakfast of champion beers and enjoyed the last few hours of entertainment. Ferry ride smooth…Cape Air flight enjoyable as always.

Bye Bye BVI..

Ok now the amazing race in SJU airport begins…

I am not sure how we did it, maybe some sort of divine Easter intervention, but we made our 11:50 flight just in time to board…wow. Rest of our travel uneventful and boring – thank god!!

Wednesday morning return to work (in stretchy clothes) was brutal…. But we go home so we can come back right?

The shots of Leverick are stunning. It's been way too long for us. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

Thanks so much!! Beautiful pictures! And glad you were able to work out the trip home, after the little mess up with the ferry! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" />

Thanks so much for the trip report. I almost cried when you were describing that realization and feeling that the trip was about to come to a close.

I really liked how you broke up the trip report and posted in installments. Definitely made the last week a little bit more bearable as I am suffering from full on DIF. Oh well, less than 3 weeks to go before the cure!

Hope to meet you sometime in the BVI!
Cheers Eh!
Jeremy

Tim - Please let us know how you like the 433. Getting on one June 18 (but unfortunately not as long as your trip!).

Your photos are always so vivid. Are you using a polarizing filter on a dslr maybe?

Nope ..I used my iPhone with a bit of editing ( cropping and maximize color etc) . I got the 6s for Christmas and really like the camera. convenient...always have your camera with you.

Very nice. It sure looks like a polarizer in several of them. That's the one filter you can't mimic in a computer.
