Sunday, Sunday....

What a lazy, lazy day this has been.....

Woke up this morning with no particular agenda beyond it being the last full day for the Granddaughter(s) and daughter so no rushing off, sort of everyone doing as they want....mimosas and coffee in the room along with omelet scandal toast, etc.,...........

This looks like a 'Mullet kinda day' maybe? Sandwiches from 'Kimmys Kitchin' along with a few brewskis from the larder and we were good to go. Five free chairs at Mullet along with three of Rosie's big umbrellas to the tune of $30.00 along with a generous tip for Edmund, the Towers chairman. Let the day begin...... Poppy and I drove over with the towels and such and by 10:30 the lot was pretty much full already and the people were parked everywhere. The girls arrived a little later.......oh to be so young. Later in the day they walked to the point at the end of the old Honeymoon Walk Lookout and dove in to swim all the way around and back into the beach where our chairs were. And then they walked to SSB&G and back after seeing a few planes come in overhead.

So this morning the ocean at Mullet was like glass. By the time I got around to going in the waves were becoming sporadic and of course, I got tossed by one but that's what it's all about, right?! By the time we left it was getting wild down there and you can clearly see the weather is changing. But to what? The air is still with not a breeze to be found where we are though there was a pleasant breeze blowing on the beach.

And a first for us - there was actually seaweed on the beach which is something I personally have never witnessed before - not even last year when the Sargasso was at its worse. And of course, when MBR&C was up and running so many years back, the grounds people wouldn't allow even a sea grape leaf to lay there so you know seaweed would be totally verboten.

Five o'clock drinks and snacks. Soon to shower for those not done yet and then off to dinner. And the Last Supper will be.....Chesterfields! We had planned/hoped? Once more for Antoine's but in calling yesterday they said they were closed tonight.

So back from dinner - good - typical Chesterfields - and now my ladies are thinking about tomorrow and heading home. I think and hope Sarah has had the vacation of her life but if not, I'm sure she'll be back down the road, and my other certainty - the way the two young 'uns ran her ragged for three days, Kim will sleep all the way home on the plane. Thanks for being such a good sport and doing the things you did with them, like Sky Beach and St. Bart's - definitely NOT the Nana and Poppy scene but they sure loved it. Until the next time....... Safe travels, all.

Sounds like another great day. Lots of activities with the swimming and walking for the girls. Hoping for the best with the predicted weather.

Sounds like a wonderful last full day for the 'girls'. At least they also had great weather!

OMG Pat, we started out early at Mullet, but left after the waves started. Of course that was after talking and talking with two different couples on the way out! Both very friendly ...

I said the same thing. I never saw seaweed on Mullet, but it was there this week.

Enjoy, your day...

Great reports Pat. I love the Nana and Poppy thing. We are Nonny and Poppy. We though we would start out as Nonna and Pop but Abigail, our first grandchild now 6, started calling Grace Nonny and me Poppy. So it stuck.

I think in many cases it's the grandchildren who decide what we will be called.

We are Mema and Papa.

Nothing remotely as good as it sounds!
Sometimes the iPad has a mind of its own and things like omelets and toast can become scandals in their own rite! And sometimes they can be quite scandalous, too.

Another lovely post. Hope the weather doesn't interfere too much with the rest of your trip. Remember that Tijon is a good diversion on rainy days - males and females alike!

Pat, as always have really enjoyed your posts. We are continuing our trip through you and the other trip reporters. Great that your grandkids could make it. We have just started planning a trip to SXM with all the kids - seven adults and five grandkids from 17 yrs down to 3 months. We have made it happen a couple times to different islands, but the families have grown and the costs have too. Hope the stock market continues to grow LOL. Plus trying to coordinate schedules for everyone, Ay yi yi!
We are Pawpaw and KK (entended family) - who knows who we will be with the new one?

You will be whomever the little one decides you are - at least I think that's the way it works.

Almost ten years ago we had the entire immediate family down and we had a wonderful time with lots of good memories. If there's any way in the world you can do it, move mountains to make it happen. Life is short and there are some things you just can't get a do-over on.
