I read about this and found it vile because I don't eat red meat, but I'm sure there are some bacon affecionado's that would love it. Check it out @ : http://www.bbqaddicts.com/blog/recipes/bacon-explosion/ <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> Contessa

I'm not so sure about the whole thing, but I've been doing bacon weaves in the oven for a year or so now and they are awesome!

I agree Carol & contessa... I love bacon, but on it's own or in a BLT... or on an egg & cheese breakfast sandwich... But I find now I don't like it so much in recipes with other meats... I don't even like bacon-cheeseburgers anymore... bacon always overpowers and dominates the other flavors...

Brian, I'm with you on this one. I love bacon alone but that's about it. I went to Omaha Steaks store awhile back as they were having a big sale. I don't eat steak that often and since I can't find a decent one where I live I get the filets from Omaha. Well they were having a sale on the bacon wrapped filet and stupid me I bought some thinking I could just take the bacon off before cooking the steak. No way...the bacon flavor was still there and ruined a really good steak. I was a little upset to put it midly! I'll take my bacon alone with some eggs on the side.

I felt my chest tightening as I looked at it...But I also smelled the pleasant and comforting aroma of bacon cooking. What a dilema

What a dilema add two eggs, a good bagel, and you have an instant "heart attack on a bagel"... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> I don't understand all the referances to red meat... It's all pork! the "other" white meat!!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" /> Ya always have to love pork fat though! (I do have to agree with Emeril on this point!)... I have to dig out my recipe for "Pork Blanket"... (Emeril would love it, lots of pork fat!)... When I do, I'll post it...

Yup... my "girth" can attest to that!!! But, I'm down 55#'s since April now! The best advice I ever got was a friend who said... "only [color:"blue"]ONE[/color] pork chop!"... it works...

It looks great Contessa, but I really like the final suggestion "Buy one completely cooked and smoked and then heat and eat"!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Joy.gif" alt="" />

Elizabeth, you couldn't pay me to eat this, I just found it interesting. I don't eat any 4 legged animules so pork is out for me, too!! And pork may be white but it sure isn't the 'other white meat'!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" /> Haven't eaten any reds/mystery meat for 45 yrs.!! Although, I do love the smell of bacon cooking. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/cloud.gif" alt="" /> Yup, David, a dilemma..... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />
