We decided to go to Simpsons Bay this morning on the hunt for gift wrap and a card, so coupled it with going to the bank to change travellers cheques (didn't actually need to, but since we were there thought we might) and have lunch. We hit the bank first and guess what? The Bank of Nova Scotia no longer accepts travellers cheques! Hubby wasn't impressed because that's where he got his. Made note to self to check out the Casino in Maho, because they cashed them last year. So, let's have lunch. No, neither one of us was hungry; hubby had suggested lunch at 13:00, so why are we here at 11.15? I forgot and he never reminded me We came to a compromise, return to the condo and I'll make something. Bought the gift wrap and card and headed back. While lunch was in the works hubby went and watched the KLM flight arrive; after lunch we headed off to Mullet Bay.
As we were turning into the parking lot an ambulance zoomed by us; enquiring minds wanted to know what had happened. Someone ended up with a broken collar bone, that's what we heard.
We then encountered a guy looking to borrow a jack so he could fix his flat tire; hubby obliged. The guy is a keyboard player in a band and will be at Karakter's tomorrow night. He invited us to go; he wants to buy hubby a drink because he saved his life - well, it wasn't that dramatic, but it's a good excuse to go there for dinner. I had planned on going there Sunday for breakfast since it's hubby's birthday, but he wants to go to SSBG instead. His big day, his choice
Onward to the beach to soak up some sun and drink more beer. The waves were really high and pounding in, we just watched people get tossed around like corks. Can understand why someone ended up with a broken collar bone. For something different we bought ribs and chicken from Rosie's and had that for dinner tonight.
After the beach we went to Happy Hour at The Dream Bar and met more Canucks. I think half of Canada is visiting right now and caught up with other friends.
And, yes, the Casino in Maho does change travellers cheques.
Tomorrow a trip to Grand Case is planned but that may change.
