While I'm posting photos I thought I'd get today's adventure report out of the way.

The day started out overcast; hubby suggested going to Orient Beach, then changed his mind, then changed it back again - fine. We were side-tracked though; I realized I had lost my wrap-around shades last night so had to back-track to The Dream Bar in search of them - no luck. So hit up the Maho Pharmacy and invested $20 in a new pair, plus another bottle of sun screen as the current one is almost empty. Back to the condo to stuff a baguette for hubby and make a sandwich for myself for lunch and off we went. It rained a bit on the way over, but settled down once we got there, later than planned. The road going in was more pot-holes than road, but we've driven on roads like this before so it wasn't a big deal. Parked in the new parking lot, which is much nicer and which has a nice area for handicapped people with appropriately signed parking spots.

We walked in-between Aloha and the Sunbeach Clubber (Is the the right name?) to the beach. Aloha didn't have too many loungers out, so hubby chose two front row loungers at SBC - $10 because they still have no utilities and restrooms to use. A beer and a coke was an additional $6. We spent an hour sunning and then attacked our lunch, which was washed down with another beer and coke. The guy I spoke to said he is hoping to be operational next week and thought he would have power and water within a few days. It may have been wishful thinking on his part. Anyway, our stay was cut short because it started to rain so hubby decided to hightail it out of there. Of note, there weren't too many "cruisers" around today, not sure where they all were hiding.

We got back to Maho and had a chance to relax for a while and I worked on my photo uploads before heading off to The Dream Bar for Happy Hour. Good old Steve over there had my wrap-arounds so I now have 2 pairs to lose.

After Happy Hour we headed to Marty's in Simpson Bay for dinner. We had the daily special - mahi-mahi with rice and salad. The fish was wonderfully fresh, made even better with Alex' sauce. We both ate hearty. Marty is still Marty.

We managed to get a couple of two-for-one deals on drinks, and a spend $50 get $10 off for another restaurant, so we will take advantage of that one night. Every little bit helps.

I will try and upload my Orient Beach photos tomorrow and post a few of them. I think it will look nice once it's all finished and everyone is up and running.

Of note, as you turn off of the main road to go down to the butterfly farm there is a new development being built on the left-hand side. So far it has taken them a year to put a road up the middle of it with street lights, and the beginnings of the entrance to the development.
