Anyone have a good recipe for a green shake? My hairstylist recommended them, and I sort of made one up today as a snack, and I was really surprised at how good it was. I just put a handful of baby salad greens into the blender with some frozen blueberries, a packet of Equal, and a little water and zipped it up until everything was liquified. The frozen berries made it a little thicker, and it was really quite tasty. I'd like some different ideas!

Brian, I'm surprised at you! Anyone who can suggest Curry Rice Krispy Treats has to be open-minded about food!

Believe me, I thought it would be gross too, but you really taste the fruit and not the greens. They just give it a really fresh taste.

Yes, they are yummy! Just don't skimp on the greens, because the color will turn out brown instead of green. Brown shake=NOT appetizing.

3 oz. baby spinach leaves
1/2 c. strawberries
1/2 banana
1/4 c. pomegranate juice
1/2 c. soy milk (or cow's)

Blend it up till nice and smooth. I keep the berries and bananas in the freezer so I'm ready whenever I buy the spinach.

Just sounds like something Jack LaLane would put inhis "power jiucer"!!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/hammer.gif" alt="" />
really never tried any of that stuff in years...
But last time someone tried to sell me on juiced veggies... it was just pretty disgusting tasting!
I'd rather down a raw egg... and the last time I did that was when I was pledging my frat at Villanova!
washed down with a live goldfish in beer! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sick.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sick.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Sick.gif" alt="" />

Well, my bubble has been burst! And here I thought you were a foodie who would try anything...

Anyway, I found a couple more recipes that sound good to me. One uses frozen mango, pineapple, and strawberries.

Thanks, Periwinkle...that looks good too. I haven't put any milk in mine yet, but I might try that. The one I made yesterday was a really dark purple, not green at all. I agree, brown is bad, although I might look like chocolate <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />.

I'll bet I could make one and serve it to both of you, and neither one of you would have any idea it had greens in it!

exactly! with their eyes closed, they'd say it was delicious! Reminds me of the time I served a green goddess dip (not green colored AT ALL) and everyone loved it. Then they asked me what was in it, and I mentioned anchovies, and several people (who had said they loved it) stopped eating it and wouldn't touch it again. Grrrrrrr.
