Car rental question...

We're arriving on Monday, and I set up a rental car months ago and haven't heard from them in the past 2 months. I've emailed them the confirmation number to make sure everything is good to go, and they haven't responded. Should I cancel it and set up another? Should I wait till I get there and if they're not waiting for us as they said they would just go to a counter and rent one on the spot?
