Hello all

I've just returned from a two week break to PIR where my fiance and I were married.

I have read all the recent reports about the place ... here's my personal opinion:

Firstly I have no doubt that we chose the perfect place for our wedding. From the moment we arrived (Thanksgiving week)the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, the facilities fantastic. We stayed in one of the new Beachfront rooms and it surpassed anything we had imagined, truly luxurious and abolutely perfect for our requirements. We, and our four guests, all in our early 30's, did not find the place stuffy, far from it. That is something I would have hated (most of us are in computer games and far from stuffy!)

The first week was fairly busy compared to the following week .. and there were a few (well-behaved) children who were enjoying themselves, not a problem at all.

Two of the resport managers, Isabelle and Michael help us organise everything for the wedding day, we were even offered the terrace of the Crows Nest Villa for a location for the service and evening meal (we had 4 guests) which we just couldn't refuse, the views were incredible.

The wedding day was amazing - we were all snorkelling on Deadmans Beach just two hours before! We married at 4pm, were chauferred in a buggy up to sunset point after to watch the sunset then back to the Crow's nest of a fabulous dinner and some fun and dancing.

We hired the Silmaril for a day of sailing the next day and had yet another amazing day with Paul and Judy (the owners) - highly recommend this for those who do not sail themselves.

There were a few other couples marrying the same week (NEVER more than one wedding a day, usually only a couple a month.

The others I spoke to said the same as me - their wedding was perfect!

For others reading this who are either marrying or honeymooning on Peter Island I raise my glass to you and I belive that you will not regret your choice of destination.

In fact, we are already planning to spend our first anniversary on the island.

Incidentally, if you ever feel a need to get off the Island and explore then simply jump on the free ferry over to Tortola and check out that and numerous other islands, best to hire a car if you want to explore Tortola, if not just chill out in Pussers Pub at Road Town, you'll find out tons about the island from those who live there!

I think you've all got the gist of our stay now

Helise
