[Linked Image]
Here is my review of the Royal Clipper which I'll make as brief as possible:
Cabins: Very nice and luxurious but not large, go for one in the middle of the ship.
Food: Very good, breakfast and lunch are buffet in the dining room, dinner is a la carte, all are free seating. Once a week (Captain's night) lunch is buffet on deck. There is also a breakfast (continental) in the piano bar. There is 24 hr coffee/tea in the piano bar too. Also drinking water available from the bar 24 hrs. (No charge).
Entertainment: Not a lot but everything happens in the bar on deck, steel bands once a week, talent show (by staff), fashion show (by staff) and dancing to the disco music. As I was up at 06:30 most mornings I was too shattered so went to bed early most nights.
Ship is very luxurious, some people from the Star Clipper who came over to visit thought it too fussy but I loved it.
Lots of thick carpet, lovely staircases, curtains with tie-backs, leather sofas in the library, comfy sofas and chairs in the lounge.
First week was Barbados-St Lucia-Ille de Saints (went for a walk round the island)-Antigua (walked round town)-St Kitts (BBQ on beach)-Dominica (went on Star Clipper)-Martinique (went for walk round town). Second week was Barbados (spent day on Mullins Beach)-Carriacou (snorkelling off Sandy Island)-Grenada (went for walk)-Tobago Cays (lunch on beach)-St Vincent/Bequia (speed boat to Mustique)-St Lucia-Martinique-Barbados. We only took the one excursion to Mustique as we had been to all the islands before and wanted to enjoy the ship. You get ashore by the boat's tender, it is only portside in Barbados, Martinique and Grenada and Dominica.
There was diving and snorkelling every day from the platform on the ship and via the zodiacs which took you to dive sites but I don't dive. The zodiacs will also take you on short trips.
There is also a gym (underwater) with tread mills, bikes etc.
As there were only 120 people on board we had loads of room on deck and there are loads of sunbeds everywhere.
Best thing was getting up early to watch the sail-in to the islands.
All the staff were wonderful and really concerned that you are OK.
Would love to do the med cruise now.
Janey
