Just returned from a couple of weekend days at Haulover, while on a business trip to Miami. Things were about the same as the last time. Mostly couples, a few groups of young women, some old men and of course the few gawking annoying males, who don't seem to have anything better to do. These guys are quite pathetic. They roam up and down the beach, fully clothed. Some with their cam corders. I notice some of them will plop right down next to a single women and try to start up a conversation. I think they have this distorted view that because a women is nude or topless at a beach that they are automatically looking for sex or a partner. (I can't imagine any women in this world being interested in these losers) Anyway that is my observation and analysis of these guys and their behavior. If you really want to get away from these bad actors, then you might want to head to the gay side of Haulover. There are seveal females and couples on that side and these male gawkers don't seem to want to head down to that end of the beach.

Fortuneately, these folks are in the minority and if you can ignore them, this is a great naturist beach. Many families there for picnics, several pick up games of volleyball were going on, and generally everyone was well behaved and having a good time. I read that they are going to expand the C/O portion of the beach 1/3 of a mile to the north. Turns out the parking concession at Haulover brings in more revenue then any other parking concession in Miami/Dade county. The expansion is great news as the beach can really get crowded on the weekends.

My wife and I stayed in South beach and drove to Haulover both days. But there are several hotels near Haulover if one wants to be close. We prefer to stay and spend our evenings in South Beach, however. They have finally finished most of the construction on Collins, so the drive to Haulover is much easier.

Oh by the way, I read the signs about what can and can't be consumed on the beach. The sign did not say no alcohol, just know glass containers. So I guess it is ok. I was suprised, because down at south Miami beach, alcohol on the beach is prohibited.

Thats my short report. Hope to get back there soon.
