Had to do a quickly put togehter business trip, and decided to make it a little vacation for the bride. We did seven night eight days for less than $2600 including air from Ft Lauderdale. Being a price sensitive trip, I was concerned as to what I was getting into, but found a lovely small european style hotel that was perfect. The Delfina, owned and operated by two gentlemen from Germany (they have a web site) was $69 per night...great euro breakfast too...It's located in the lowlands near the medical school. VERY clean, and comfy...no frills, rather simple. There is a pool and workout center. They supply a cell phone for the room that you can bring with you when out. One thing we didn't skimp on was the opportunity to dine out. Here's our view on restaurants: GreenHouse- pricey, very poor or no service for merely adequate food...INDIANA JONES-Horrible. This was disappointing as our last experience there (over a year ago) was pleasant. Everything over cooked and dry...(Highlight was the fish soup super flavor). Service wasn't good either. They lost out on several cocktails (or should I say I lost out...) We asked for a non smoking area, but that was futile as there were smokers all around...asked the manager, opps he came with a cig in mouth!!!...[Linked Image]- Did BoatHouse and that was nice. wife really enjoyed the seafood Kabob...my scampi was good too. The bartender understood the word "Rum" and let me know it [Linked Image]. TexMex for lunch...huge portions, we acutally did only appetizers and they were big too...couple of beers, (okay several) and food $26. Following my disaster of Indiana (where I ordered the Snapper) the snapper hankering was still there. We decided to do Antoines on Front Street....OH WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!! It was without question one of the most enjoyable meals I have ever had. PERIOD! Wifes' fish was equally delish (well, I had to try it!!!). [Linked Image] ... Checked out the Dutch Side Beach Bar on Great bay....good little joint...VERY cold beers! They do a great little barbeque for 8 bucks...more importantly two beers for three$. We went to mrs busby for lucnch...not great but ok...Did the Passagran for lunch one day, very nice, lovely setting fairly priced. Holland House for lunch one, not overly impressed, but the staff was very nice. Did Ricks Place one evening...hey it's ricks, what can I say at least the beers were cold......There's a new place...open about a month, called Hot Tomatoes....Great staff, good food and fair prices. We were pleased. One of the partners is formerly a partner of SSBB. We tried the Old Captain. Very quiet..we were the only people there. Good fare, fair prices, great bartender (do you guys see a pattern here?) Most of my business was taking place around Front Street therefore so many bites were taken along that route. Very tough to do business and focus when you're on such a beautiful island...hhhmmm. One good thing about the shoestring trip, Heidi only looked in the Touch of Gold!!! (Their beers weren't as cold this year!). We used the Prince's this time for a rental. not bad $150 for the week...corolla. We did a cell phone too, but was disappointed in the service (from prince) Now that I know a cell is included with the room at Delfina, I won't worry about it. Ok , that's it for now, with regards to all, Alex
