Back in the '80's it was AI then and it didn't hurt the local restaurants. Sonesta owned both Great Bay Hotel & Sonesta Maho (pre their fire) and guests staying at either hotel that took the optional meal plan could dine at either hotel restaurants. RonDon...just one correction. Sonesta has NEVER owned either Great Bay Hotel or the Sonesta Maho. Yes the name Sonesta was used. Story goes the Sonesta wanted a presence on the island...and it was in the Spadarro's family's best interest to rent them the name.. The deal was worth millions to the Spadarros and a win win situation for both companies. Of course...the same is true with ''Ocean Point".
