Sorry, I mislabeled the last rip report it should have been days 17 & 18
Day 19 Off to St. Lucia
Our driver arrived on time and we were at the airport by 9:00am for our 11:00am departure, however Liat had rescheduled our flight and it was gone by the time we arrived. No worries though, they had another leaving at noon with a connection in St. Vincent, so we checked in and went to the little snack shop outside the terminal for a meat pie before going through security. The flight to St. Vincent was short and when we arrived we had a 4 hour layover so we cleared into the country and headed for Kingstown. I am pretty familiar with the island by now so I wasn’t concerned about getting back to the airport on time for our next leg, I knew the bus ride was only about 10 minutes and this is a popular route so there are always buses leaving. Upon arrival in Kingstown I stopped at the juice truck for some fresh juice, guava, mango and five fingers (starfruit); I then headed over to the woman that sells lunches out of the back of her van, it gives a whole new meaning to “meals on wheels”; I opted for a small order of barbecued ribs and pig tails, served with an assortment of sides. We walked around for a while, Kingstown is always so busy it’s a real feast for the eyes, and then we went up to the rooftop bar at the Cobblestone restaurant. I had a beer and Kim had a fresh passion fruit juice, her favorite. We grabbed a bus back to the airport in plenty of time for our flight; security was a breeze as this isn’t a very big airport. Prior to takeoff the pilot revved the engines more than I had heard before, then I remembered seeing from the water how the planes have to climb very quickly when taking off. We arrived in St. Lucia on time, our luggage was another story; it’s funny but I knew what number type our bags were before the clerk handed me the identification guide (#25, light blue) a result of flying Liat before. In a way I took it as good luck, we had packed enough stuff into our carry-ons in anticipation of our bags not arriving and with only hand luggage we could take the bus to the hotel instead of the $25 US taxi ride. We were walking down the road on our way to the bus stop when a very persuasive taxi driver talked me into taking his cab for $15. We checked into the Bay Gardens Inn, dropped off our stuff and headed down to the beach for the sunset. Afterwards we stopped at the jerk truck, next to Rehab for some chicken and bakes before taking a bus to the marina to meet Trendy and Vicky.

Kim and Trendy at Baordwalk Bar
The balance of the night was spent between Boardwalk and Ocean Club catching up and enjoying the wonderful nighttime breeze. Around 11:00 we grabbed some wings and fries off the chicken truck outside the marina then took a bus back to the hotel where I had a nightcap of Chairmen’s Reserve while Kim, who doesn’t often drink much headed right to bed.
