New member, I will keep it brief.
This was our 9th visit to the BVI, and it had to happen sometime, but this trip was a washout. It was not crowded. It rained steady for the last 4 days we were there. Still had a good time. All of the locals were friendly and genuinely glad we were there (except the TSA official at the airport. He even confiscates arisols, OFF, and lighters in your check in luggage). The taxi drivers were great and even advised on sightseeing, including the dolphins at Prospet Reef.
Chartered thru the Moorings again, great experience. They are now using HOLDING TANKS on all of their charters. You are advised to hold and dump when you are 1/2 mile off shore. If you bring back without dumping, there is a $100 service charge.
Provisioned thru Bobby's, OK.
Rented a laptop from Renport, it was slow but it worked at most of the anchorages. It came in handy while stuck below deck to check out the weather and send and read emails. Even checked on this board while there.
Sydney's was fun, just before the rains set in.
Got a little snorkeing in at the Dogs. Saw a charter boat pick up a park mooring, then a dive boat pick up the crew and take them to another island. Guess that ball was busy for the day.
Anchored at the Bight and saw two big beautiful sailboats cruise in and anchor. Then promptly dig out all of the water toys and set out to ski, tube and kneeboard around the Bight.
It was obvious that a credit card could get you a charter from listening to the chatter on the VHF. There were a lot of clueless persons on boats.
PR airport sucks. Most unfriendly people working there and all of the shops close by 7:00pm. This was confirmed by one of the shop workers. So if you get in after that, nothing to eat or drink. They do not open much before 11:00am either.

We will be back to the BVI as soon as possible. We enjoy keeping tabs on this forum and the valued infromation the experts offer.
