There was a rare attack near our lodging on Maui in 2004. The rain runoff from the island hills murkies up the water a bit and led to a tiger killing an experience, older surfer.
As one said they like to bite anything at first and dont necessarily like humans but aometimes the bite is enough to lose blood.
