According to the usviupdate website's Information for Leisure Travelers page updated Jan 3, 2021, "All beaches shall be closed from 4 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.."
I have no problem with this ,however, what if you need to cross a public beach to reach a main road to reach town with a charter group?
As an example, if it were Saturday night and you were on your charter vessel in Maho and you wanted to visit Cruz bay for dinner....would this be permissible?
I could certainly be overthinking this - but my current loose sailing plan includes two overnights in Maho/Francis that would likely land on Saturday and a Sunday.
I would guess that other charterers in other bays might have or could expect to experience a similar scenario.
Thoughts? You shouldn’t have a problem, but you might find it hard to get a taxi before the No-Sums get you in the early evening. You could bring your boat into the Caneel Bay area dinghy into Cruz Bay or have someone rent a car and park it in Maho.
