"A Frenchman once told me the best Roses are very light color almost like a tinged water. The darker the color the less good." I don't agreed. I've had some very good Rose that were darker in color. It all depends on personal taste.
Taste in wine is just like taste in most things: it's subjective. I agree with the Frenchman's opinion, because the darker rose wines are usually sweeter, and I prefer a drier wine.
