Dinners (cont)
Bananas....Great burgers and finger food. Nice atmosphere and the service was very good.
Temptation...Made reservations in advance and requested a nice table as this was a special evening. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and seated at a table located where everyone could see us. The ladies were dressed to kill and the evening started out well. After a short time we noticed our table was receiving a great deal of attention from other patrons. Were we being confused with celebrities? The stares continued until we realized that one of the girls had the inadvertent " nipple slip " <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />. After covering the culprit, we continued on and had a delightful dinner.
Poulet Orleans...A great start on the first night. A great way to unwind with good food and gracious hosts.
Peg Leg Pub......Gerry and Kathy highly recommended Peg Leg. Met Sean, and had the best steaks on the island
California.....Nice view on the water. Pizzas and salads were very good. Menu had somthing for everyone.
Hideaway@ La Vista.....Good music, nice setting and a good meal at a good price
Odds/Ends
Traffic was terrible. Was like commuting on Route 128 in Boston. Thats the price you pay for staying on the Dutch side and traveling to Orient everyday. The% of moterbike drivers that are idiots has risen to 99% from 97%. I would like to suggest to the St Maarten Tourism Board the establishment of a HOV lane for tourists only. This road could be constructed by $$$ from potential rest stop venders such as Ms B"s ribs and Joes Jewelry. It would start at Maho and end at Orient. Does anyone else want to open their car door just as a motorcycle is about to pass them inbetween cars?
Orient Beach.....
Still the best. Met some fine people and some unusual people as well. Life is good on this beach. I wish I could bring it home. It seemed most of the ( boat people ) a.k.a. black socks had hats from states such as Indiana, Ohio and North Carolina. Any chance the Cruise lines could prohibit these people from taking the Orient Beach excursion?
Casinos
Lost...but did win $400 one night on the penny slots. Thats because I was playing a machine that had 50 lines and you could bet 50 per line. My penny bet quickly turned into a $15 bet per spin. Guess thats why I lost.
