David - That was a lovely report; thanks for taking the time to write it.
When you say your $226 rate "included everything," do you mean that was an all-inclusive rate? If so, that is more reasonable. If not, then I think you paid too much. Get on Divi's mailing list, as they are always running specials. If you don't do any cooking in your room, you could consider a hotel room in the future as they are less expensive than rooms with kitchens.
As to what I pay, I am a timeshare owner and, by contract, pay my maintenance fee; this year, for a studio, that came to $111/night.
