We spent 7 weeks this winter in Portugal, Lisbon and mostly Albufeira. Loved it so much we booked for next winter before we left. Likely half the price of us wintering in Florida, food and rent considered.
The people were lovely and inviting, very international population as well.
Weather was what I would consider early spring, with 11-2 time frame almost summer on the beaches.
Hiking, quad biking through the farm lands just outside the coastal areas, touring every little town we could while we had a car.
Language for english speakers was not too much of an issue most places.
we only rented a car for 10 days so we could traverse the entire algarve coast, otherwise we walked everywhere in Lisbon and Albufiera.
Top notch recommendation from Jeannius to orient in Albufeira for our first time.
Next year we will be in Albufeira for a shorter time and then 5 weeks in Lagos as we fell in love with that town upon visiting it, and there was great hiking along the cliffs right from town.
