We all have preferences… Our’s is to leave the Moorings base about 10:30 am or 11:00 am. We drop our bags at BVI with someone we know there - walk to Marche for lunch on the water - and then fly out early to mid-afternoon. With global entry, we are typically through the process in Miami in 45 minutes to an hour. Most importantly for my wife and daughters, we don’t sweat, we don’t have sea spray from a boat ride, and we aren’t starving after eating a good lunch at Marche.
With this said, there is a pretty good place to get a salad/sandwich in the corner of the STT terminal, and there is a good bar in the other corner of the terminal (if you need more alcohol after a boat trip 🤠).
As I said, to each his own, this just works for us.
