Just got back from two weeks there as of yesterday. Weather was perfect. No rain. The temp was about 80-85 during the day. Steady breeze. Two days with southern wind. The rest of the time from E-NE. Also, a few days of very high surge which made swimming very dangerous, but then it settled back down.

Things are hopping on Anegada. Every night there are about 20-30 boats at Setting Point. It was the weekend of the Dark and Stormy boat race that ended at Neptune's Treasure and 38 boats raced. Nice buffet afterwards. Party with music by the Lounge Lizards. Lots of merriment.

For those of you already familiar with Anegada, some news about improvements. They are putting in a pipeline from the well on the south road to the Settlement. It's brackish, but will supply wash water to the people there. There is a promise of desalination plant in a year or so. They are doing some work at the airport, cleaning up the bushes on the side of the runway to keep the cows out of there. Seems there were some close calls of cows running in front of planes.

Other building projects: Mac Norman's nephew, Kenneth, is starting a six-cottage site on Loblolly Bay. Mac's campground is still going well and is totally lovely and is THE PLACE for people who want to camp. Wilfred Crique has finished the seven cottages on the West End and they are cute and often fully booked. Neptunes has three new rooms open and I think they are waiting for the end of "the season" to finish the other four that are planned. The big building at Bones Bight seems just about ready to go. Someone told me that they were accepting bookings, but I'm not sure how or when.

The Anegada Reef still is jumping (for Anegada, that is). Lowell and Sue are fine. Charlie couldn't enter the agricultural fair again this year because he is considered a "pet goat" and they want to give prizes to livestock. Nonetheless, he was there, autographing his new coloring book, "Charlie Visits the Flamingoes." A big hit.

I guess that's about all for now. It was great being there again and Reggie and I look forward to our next visit in May.

George
