Acadia National Park is a great destination and uniquely beautiful. While I do have opinions relating to the region’s historical architecture, local artisans, restaurants and accommodations, the focus of my review is the hiking in Acadia. We wanted to explore the island as much as possible and the most feasible manner in which to do that for us was to hike. In six days we completed ten hikes, all of which I’ve detailed at this remote website. I include characteristics of the trail, images of the trail, maps outlining our route and of course, a string of thumbnails showing the scenery each trek yielded.

Quickly I’d like to thank the fine folks at Map Adventures LLC for the use of their map, which helps illustrate two of our more memorable adventures, up Perpendicular Trail and Sargent Mountain. While we took three maps and three other books with us on our trip, their detailed map was our record of choice while we were on the trail. With respect to the other diagrams, all recognitions, restrictions and permissions have been acknowledged. While I’m at it, as you will quickly discover, I don’t write source code for a living. …lol… The content on these pages set up best in a fully expanded browser. With a high-speed connection most of the pages will load in about 5 or 6 seconds.
My review extends to 12 pages; all but two are of our hikes in Acadia. I have to say, Camden Hills and the Bold Coast are not provided much justice, however the focus is after all, on Acadia. There is nice scenery provided from all the hikes but Sargent Mountain, Beech Mountain and Valley Peak are particularly striking. Below is a bit of a sitemap to help you navigate to the hike(s) of your choice. You can navigate at the site of the review, but only forward and back.

/page02 is Dorr Mountain via the Ladder Trail
/page03 is Jordan Stream, the Cobblestone Bridge and the Stanley Brook Bridge
/page04 is Valley Peak and St, Sauveur Mountain via the Ledge Trail.
/page05 is Gorham Mountain and Ocean Path.
/page06 is Beech Mountain via Valley Trail.
/page07 is Mansell Mountain via the Perpendicular Trail
/page08 is the North Bubble and Connors Nubble.
/page09 is Sargent Mountain via the Hadlock Brook Trail
/page10 is Day Mountain and Carriage Roads

While you’re there don’t click the web counter on page one unless you want to go to an online casino. The host’s server goes down a lot. You could copy & paste one of the pages and it not load. You could navigate away then come back and it’ll be there. Several clicks later it’s gone again. To attain what insight my review may have to offer, patience is a big requirement, unfortunately. Probably the best time to access it is in the middle of the night, who knows. All I can suggest is to pick away at it if you find it of interest. It’s better to read an entire trail review then click the thumbnails. Our trip actually included a number of stops along Maine’s coast. Page 01 and page 12 provide a before and after Acadia.
Enjoy the review and happy holidays to everyone!
