This is a terrific book...subtitle is "True Tales of a Botswana Safari Guide", by Peter Allison. Our daughter bought it as a xmas present for her Dad, after reading a NY Times review and recalling that these were the words of our guide from Inyati Lodge at Krugar Park in South Africa. As I was relaxing by the pool one morning, Robert was on a flora and fauna walk with the native guide when a young bull elephant charged not once but three times from the bush. On his video, you can hear these words and the rifle being cocked as the elephant gets closer.
I later asked him how he could just stand there and keep filming throughout the charges, and he relied that guide said "don't run"...plus, "from the viewfinder, it didn't look all that bad." Later when we connected the video to the TV, it surely DID look impressive!
