Trip Report – March 15 – 29, 2008
Flew US Airways out of PHL – great flights both ways!
Car Rental – AAA This is the 8th trip that we used Alain and we have to say everytime we are more than pleased. They pick you up at the airport, get you in a car and send you on your way. On the return they drive you to the airport. This is a speedy and friendly process.
Cell Phone Rental – Pack Light…This is the 6th trip using him and again the service is bar none. He meets us to drop off the phone and the instructions. When we leave he meets us at the airport. No problems ever!
Stayed at Club Orient Studio #1 and LOVED it once again. There is no better to be on the beach and surrounded by friendly people.
Lunch– Baywatch whenever they were open as usual. We can’t say enough about Andy and Cheryl and of course there is also Ross, Adrian and Jonathan…they all make Baywatch a great place! Can’t beat Andy’s food!
St. Patty’s Day Party – This was again a great event that we look forward too! Thanks to John and Sugarae for all of the planning that goes into it…and of course thanks to Cheryl and Andy! The party was a blast and the memories are fond ones. We always have a great time and meet great people…this year was no different.
We ate out every night, so we are not going to bore you with all the details…just the ones that stand out:
Spiga – This has always been a favorite of ours. With the 1:1 pricing it seems to be a favorite to many staying on the island this year. We always enjoy the Italian food with Caribbean flare that is served.
La Gondola – Another old time favorite. Classic Italian at its best.
Halsey’s – A great meal on the waterfront. The ambiance is not the best, but the food more than makes up for it.
Sol E Luna – Another old time favorite. Great food and service as well as the best strawberries and ice cream for dessert in the world!!
Bajatzu – This was our first trip to Bajatzu (on the advice of Mom and Dad). This is an incredible steakhouse….great food, service and location.
La Cigale – This was the first trip that we learned of LaCigale. Each year we pick a few new restaurants to try….sometimes we make out great, others not so great. La Cigale is one of the best restaurants on the island. Olivier and his family have certainly created a gem on St. Martin. We had two incredible meals there. At the last meal we were pleased to be placed at the one and only table that was on the beach. I don’t mean overlooking the beach I mean on the beach. It was an incredibly romantic seating. If you want romance, great food and fabulous service…try La Cigale! You will not be disappointed.
It was two weeks in heaven and we can’t wait to return. Great people…great beaches….great food – what more is needed?
I tried to keep it short….pm us if you need more details.
