sounds like it ----as a 747 lover in general and a KLM 747 lover at SXM ---- this is a sad announcement. At least they are keeping them to Curacao. Airlines are parking them in favor of 2 engine birds like 777 and A330. They are equally reliable over water and burn less fuel. Air France parked all theirs and Delta is down to 6 and will soon park them. They just put one in their museum in Atlanta. Lufthansa is the only big airline buying new 747-8's http://centreforaviation.com/analysis/74...-in-2016-261285Get your pictures and videos while you can before they are gone.

This might only affect high season flights. When I was checking next off season, it was showing 747 again. However, by that time, they may have the 787 flying to sxm by then.

Sounds like according to the article, the 747 will no longer be flying to SXM as of October this year, but hopefully maybe wilsonck is correct, and they will be back in the offseason. I'm sure that Sunset Bar and Grill in particular will be upset if they don't come any more.
