What's the actual depth on those "rocks"? The surf was down, so I managed to stand on the flat part of the rocks and found about two feet of water under the surface. I dove all of the area East of the marker and found plenty of water. As always, you should give the marker a safe distance when rounding Dawg Rocks as there is some scope on the line, but at it maximum distance with an Easterly breeze, the buoy should be about 10 feet east of Dawg Rock. Marker was set at 18 26.127' N 64 42.320' W

OneEyedJack said: I understand memorials, but tampering with aids to navigation - what could possibly be wrong with that? For those that aren't familiar with the back story, this was not a tampered with existing navigational aid, this was just placed there by TTOL members because there was no identifying aid marking this rock outcropping. The rock was hit previously by Mark during a Cat Fight a few years ago, and incidentally a source of a lot of razzing and luckily not a lot of boat damage. Thus becoming a fitting "memorial" as well. I can assure you if Dirk placed the marker it is secure and correct!

Cant get over the kindness of some people. Just spoken to Rusty from Moor Secure and they are going to look after Dawg Rock and renew anything that needs to be renewed. One big shoutout for them

Very cool tribute! Never met Mark, but chatted with him here on TTOL a number of times. He will be missed, but remembered!

Big thanks to all that made this happen. Knowing Mark, pouring rum into the water he would yell "Alcohol abuse" Every time I poured out a small amount of warm beer, he would yell at me, all joking, of course

We did douse the buoy with Cruzan before it went overboard.

Seems when you talk about "The Beach" the is only one....
1 | Hans Lollik Beach Hans Lollik Beach is a secluded beach located just off the northern coast of St. Thomas on the uninhabited islands of Hand Lollik. While getting to the island may take a little bit of planning, those who go will be rewarded with a pristine beach offering stunning views and nearly absolute privacy.
This beach is located 3.9 miles (6.2 km) north-northeast of the center of Charlotte Amalie, on south east side of Hans Lollik Island.
Good luck in your search.

Yea it’s on the larger beach on the south end of Hans Lollik, not the small beaches. Here’s a photo:
