Hello folks. We are heading back to St Martin in 11 days arriving on 12/4. We much prefer the atmosphere of the French side for our stay and will be at a cute bungalow in Cul D Sac. We are thinking that we'd like to have one evening bar hopping and such in Simpson Bay. If I'm reading this taxi rate chart correctly it seems that we are looking at $45/per person each way...$180 total. Looks like lodging may be actually less expensive with many options around $100. Am I reading the rate chart correctly? I recall on our first trip (before renting a car) we stayed at Orient Bay and cab fare was pretty pricey to Simpson and Cupecoy. Taxi RatesWe are renting a car but lodging or taxi for this evening so we can enjoy adult libations. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

No, that is not correct. I would expect to pay about $75 roundtrip for the two of you, including tip, DEPENDING on whether you are really late leaving Simpson Bay. If you're after midnight leaving to go home, I would guesstimate about $10 more.
Suggest you contact TTOL sponsor Wilfred Brooks on the sponsors list. He is a really good guy, careful driver, and will pick you up at your condo and take you and pick you up again, at a prearranged time. Or if you have a phone, you could call him when you're ready. If it's before 11 or so, you could probably just get a cab wherever you are without pre-arranging it.
