First some thank yous... To this board for lots of great info. Second to Liane Le Tendre our broker and mostly to Capt Boss Frett who is a wonderful Capt and a genuinely nice man.

It was our first trip to BVI, Sailed Honeymoon Suite, a 38' sloop out of BVIYC for 7 nights. We decided to hire a Capt for several reasons, not the least of which is my experience level. We also wanted someone with local expertise and experience. We made no itinerary and just went with the flow with Boss. What a great way to enjoy BVI. No stress, no schedule and no problems.

Our itinerary went like this.... 1st night at Cooper, the Baths, Leverik 2nd night, BEYC for a short stop next morning followed by an exhilarating 1 hour 40 minutes sail to Anegada for 3rd night, enjoyed lobster on the beach and Loblolly beach the next morning... All alone on the beach for while, next night at Scrub Island Marina for a night alone, Boss went home for the night. The next morning, no wind, motored to east end of JvD for bubbly pool and dinner at Taboo which was great, next morning to Great Harbour for lunch at Foxy's and afternoon sail to Sopers for another night alone aboard while Boss went home again. Our last night was at the Bight with a beautiful last afternoon on the beach there and a wonderful dinner at the Pirates restaurant very good.

Great food along the way, lots of fun, great sailing... Feel like we did a lot. We were completely drained when we got home, feel worn out... A good measure of a great time!

Big lesson for me is don't plan so hard... Go with the flow. It works very well for us. Also, won't bring so much stuff next time...

Even the first 2 nights depends on conditions. Loose plans are great. But stay flexible and adapt. On our last trip, we did not get to the anchorage we had planned anchorage for that night. Dinner reservations needed changing etc.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. "No stress, no schedule and no problems" the way that it should be. The rule of thumb that has been passed along is less stuff, less clothing and MORE $$$$. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" /> No doubt you've been bit by the BVI bug and will go to come back!
Thanks for sharing!
