Spent the day yesterday celebrating the years of fishing history in this area.

We picked up Annie about 9;30 am to try to beat the heat. We arrived to a lovely breeze and enjoyed a quick walk around before finding some nice seats in the shade to listen to some steel pan. Even Annie was tapping her feet!

It started to get busy, so we found one of the 20 or so local places set up for food, and ordered. Bill had great whelk and dumpling. Annie and I, on the other hand, had a pretty dried up piece of fish. No rice, no salad. Guess picking the only place that had any seating left was a bad move on our part.

By the time we sat down, it was hot and the breeze was gone. So we packed up and headed home after another little walk about. Managed to get out before all the speaches started! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />

We had a really nice time, and it's great to watch the families out and having a fun day. I'm sure it got way more exciting later, with more music - and we missed the crab races. But a couple of hours in the heat and sun, and we were done! Thanks Annie for helping to make it an extra special day!

Here's the pics.
