I'll be sailing out of Tortola and clearing in/out of many islands down to Guadaloupe and back this spring/summer. I've seen some sporadic web discussion of "SailClear" including on noonsite.com. However, the Sailclear website has very limited value and none of the cruising guides discuss it. I've done some limited basic research but can't really get much info. Can anyone provide any first hand experience here? Is this operational? (The SailClear website claims it is for several Caribbean countries that I'm planning to visit.) Is this of any value for a cruising family? Does anyone know how to proceed, if it is of value in terms of easing C&I through multiple countries?

I submitted my info via SailClear on a trip to Anguilla last fall. C&I ignored it and just wanted to examine (and rubber stamp) the paper copies I brought along just in case.

SailClear on Anguilla only seems to work for the day boats from SXM that sail to the outlying beach bars.

Thanks BaardJ and Mike - looks like I'll be doing things the old fashioned way!

Excel spreadsheets with many copies giving all the immigration info helps, saves rewritting each time.
In French St Martin with a completely blank jump drive they will load the files you need.

I signed up for it and no one knows what it is. The agent in Marigot was a real jerk. Made us wait an hour and only would accept Euros. We have cleared in before with dollars, no problem.

Don't clear in at Marigot with an agent or with C/I.
Instead, go to Island Water World (near the bridge and with a dinghy dock) and use the dedicated computer to check in. No hassles and no problems. Also, no "Sailclear" is used on Sint Maarten/St. Martin.

Thanks for all the continuing thoughts/advice. Clearly, SailClear is useless.
Mike - as much as I say I'll do things the old fashioned way, I'll definitely have all crew info on spreadsheets. Its a pretty limited crew in our case - just 3 of us, and maybe the occasional guest ("crew") who makes a country transit - so, should be manageable. I am planning to download all forms for all countries before the trip, and I suppose print them off at home before departure - since I won't have a printer on the boat. In any case, thanks for the thoughts everyone!
