Ok, for years we used the Red Caps/porters at the St. Thomas airport. The cab delivered us out front, we went up to a porter with our check bags, gave him/her our tickets, they printed out the baggage claim strips for the bags along with our claim tickets, loaded all of our bags on a cart and took us straight to the head of C&I and then over to TSA security. We gave a tip, grabbed the carry on bags and off they went with our checked bags. Fine and dandy. This last time, however, we were ushered to the back of the Delta check in desk and waited to have a Delta agent check our bags at the counter. The Red Cap waited in line next to us, and then carted our carry on bags and ushered us to security, gave us our bags, waited for a tip, then left. So, the question is for you all flying out of STT, are they no longer checking bags? If not, we don't need them to tote our carry on bags for a tip. Have rules changed? Anybody know? I'm going to post at the St. Thomas TTOL page, too.
