Arriving Thursday at Big Apple by 4PM was the goal and we met it.
Cocktails in hand, with toes in the sand. LIFE IS GOOD and I feel like I’m home.
We had dinner at Sebastian’s that night, we were pleased. Early night.
Provisions delivered by 8:30AM Friday way to go RiteWay Food Market!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything we ordered was delivered!
We deemed Friday a “chill day”. Just unwind, relax, read, walk, swim. Just enjoy! It’s amazing how easy that is to do pretty much nothing. That night we ate out at D’Coal Pot. Very pleased we all were.
Saturday we were up early for a trip to RT to board Day Dream where we spent the day with 1st Mate Dee and Captain Darren. It was snorkel day and we headed for a day sail to Peter, Salt (the Rhone)and Cooper. Frank and Jan had all ready been to the Indians so I thought this would knock off a few islands that they had not seen yet. We ate on board at Salt Island. The food was very good and the drinks were pretty great as well. My compliments to both Dee and Darren for a fun filled day on the water.
Sunday, another CHILL day in between a full day of traveling around. Next stop Virgin Gorda.
Another day of up early to board the ferry to VGYH where we pick up our car rental through Mahogney Car Rental. Very pleased with the service and the car. Being the travel advisor for this trip I’m the driver so off we go to The Baths! This was a place that Frank & Jan had heard about that they wanted to visit.
Thought getting there early would help but there was a cruise ship around so many were being dropped off early. Oh well we did have the area alone for a little while anyway. Frank & Jan managed to do some snorkeling so they were happy. I did kind of warn them about the trek through the boulders but no matter how much you warn people they are still amazed. It was pretty busy but now they can say that they have been there. At the Top of the Baths those that were not driving indulged in some cocktails while I wadded in the pool. Next stop Savanah Bay. What’s not to love about Savanah Bay? It truly is so beautiful.
Quick text to Nick and Monica that we are on our way to meet them at Hog Heaven for lunch! SUCH A TREAT to visit with them on their day off. We had a great time and I know that Frank and Jan enjoyed meeting them. ALWAYS a hoot of a time. It’s (Hog Heaven) changed since we were last there. The bar and deck have expanded…(but so to have the prices.) That is just one view you just cannot get enough of.
We stopped by the Cooper Mine to take a look on the way back to drop the car off and hop on the ferry.
Tuesday was another chill day. Just enjoying the deck and the beautiful water.
Wednesday we were up early again, next stop ANEGADA to meet up with Walker and Nancy. Ferry out of RT once again and by 8:30 AM we are there. Walker and Nancy are there to greet us as we come off the ferry and there’s Dean to drive us to get our rental for the day. Off we go to Neptune’s Treasure for a bit ‘o breakfast….and there’s Pam!!!!!!!!!!!! Great to see her and chat for a bit. She makes Frank a juice drink not for the faint of heart! WOWZAH. Off to Flash of Beauty we go……quick stop to see the flamingo’s. After a brief snorkel stop we head over to Loblolly just long enough to enjoy a cocktail then off to our favorite place on earth……Cow Wreck for the remainder of the day. We had a great visit with Walker AND Nancy and got to see the “family” which are all doing quite well! SO DARN CUTE! Lunch and just an enjoyable day at Cow Wreck, just didn’t want it to end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday was another “chill’ Day…we all liked the itinenry. It worked out perfectly. As a special last night treat we ate at the Sugar Mill. MAL WE LOVED IT and it was by far the best way to end such a wonderful time. Capped it off with some Sebastian’s rum I mean really it just doesn’t get any better.
I lingered by the edge of the water not wanting to call it quits, just savoring every last minute that I could, in a place that I feel so at home…so many wonderful memories over the years…and more wonderful memories to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great trip report! We did a land based trip once and had really enjoyed it. We love being on a boat but land based offered us more time to explore the islands by car. Thanks for posting...wheels up Friday...this helped!
Where exactly is Flash of Beauty? We have been to Loblolly...is it the beach there or is it near there?

mappy--thanks for the report! It's been a while since we've been there, but Big Apple, when there is sand, is my favorite place in the BVI...

Carol I could not agree more!!!!!MAL we had ample beach and the waves were fun. I've never been there when there were waves like that. Found a rouge boogie board and rode the waves. Special thanks to island Jim always a pleasure to get some quality time and Uschi for stopping by for drinks and apps! Cheryl does what she does best in accommodating our needs and taking the time out to visit us at BA! Land based certainly does afford more time with island friends! Yes MAL we really missed you both especially your morning walks! See you next time for sure. Love and best to all!!!!

Lisa,

Flash of Beauty is a bit East of Loblolly. Just a stones throw away.
