We have just returned from another family week on Tortola. We have gone the past 4 summers and each year we add more family to our trip. This year we traveled 7/10-7/17. We had my in laws for their first BVI exp, our daughter and her husband with our 2 grandkids, and hubby and myself.

July 10- Started out very early to get to Reagan Nat'l for a 6am flight to STT via Charlotte on US AIR. We had no problems on any flights and arrived on time. We had both carry ons and packed bags, arrived STT at 330p waited for luggage, caught Taxi and quickly made the 430p ferry to WE. Jerry was waiting, with a smile for us and our rentals so we could make our way to CGB. Stopped in at Myett's to see Prince waiting with cold Carib, yummy ! After a long day of traveling the kids ran to the beach and jumped in with clothes on as we watched the sunset.

July 11- Nice day to lay on beach and play with family. Went to Elm for BBQ, had a front table. Great music and show. My In Laws had been looking forward to it and really enjoyed the food and music. My grandson and granddaughter loved the band. My 2 yr old grandson picked up the tip jar and walked around collecting for the band.... he has a future in the entertainment industry! Hubby and I went out to Bomba later with some friends and watched the Candy Man and Prince sing.. we all had a good time.

July 12- did NOTHING but lay on the beach and play in water

July 13- Smuggs and Brewer's- nice weather and good snorkeling. Sopers Hole for some shopping. Bobby's for odds and ends..

July 14- Chill out day and Quito's at night, hung out with friends and had a great time. Stayed out wee bit late, but had fun.

July 15,16- Chilling and playing with the family. Had friends over and enjoyed a wonderful beach picnic party and dinner. Next day took a day sail to JVD with Capt Steve on Aristocat. The entire family had a great day in the water and on the boat. We all enjoyed the water and beach at White Bay. The Soggy Dollar was very busy compared to May when we were there. Mic was in control of the bar and waiting on everyone even though he had a line down to the beach.
Painkillers should be called " how will I swim back to the boat?” After 3 Painkillers it was a long swim..

July 17 – Travel day home. This was my 4th trip to BVI in this 12 months and I have never had a day like that. The 1030a ferry was 30 mins late. It was raining, the ride over was rough, kids and older ladies crying on the ferry. It took 2 hrs to get through customs and security at STT airport! It was hot, muggy and so many people in line were grumpy. It was pouring down rain walking out to board the plane, no ice or drinks to be offered on Spirit Air. Finally made it to Regean at 1030p and home in bed by 130am.
No matter how long the travel day home takes, we are already planning our family trip for next summer. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/circle.gif" alt="" />
