Our trip started on Monday August 3 with a very uneventful flight from Regan National Airport to Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, with a stop in Miami.

We checked into the Best Western Emerald Beach (340-777-8800), about 1 mile from the airport. We hit the bar, relaxed, and had some dinner. The food is pretty good there, so being tired we didn't stray from the grounds that night.

Here's a picture of the beach from the bar. Pretty nice.

Had a pretty nice sunset too!

The next morning we taxied up to Tree Limin' St. Thomas for a 6-stage zip line tour. It's at the top of the island and the breezes up there are heavenly and cool. We had a wonderfully clear day and took a lot of pictures.

Here's one of the packed inside of the funky 6-wheeled soviet land rovers they cart you up the mountain with. Average age of our group was 58, and the average age of the rest of the tour was about 15. Not to worry! We'd done this before and it's a blast. Highly recommended.

Our greying but game crew then taxied back down to old town for lunch at The Greenhouse.

After lunch we wandered the twisty passageways of Old Town Charlotte Amalie in search of modern treasures.

After a dinner at IGGY's BEACH BAR at Bolongo Bay, we taxied back to the BWEB, exhausted after a long day of fun.
