Hi friends, the wife and I have started spending our last night in Charlotte Amalie and we are looking for a review of the Emerald Beach hotel, formerly a Marriott, I think. We have spent one night two years ago in May at Windward Passage, and last May was at the Island Beachcomber. Also, if you would recommend Emerald Beach, who should I call to get the best rates? We will be flying out the next day, so it is just one night. The wife loved walking the beach last year at the Island Beachcomber, the bar was OK, the gardens were beautiful but the better half did have some issues with the room itself. So, opinions/suggestions/advice greatly appreciated.

Emerald beach was formerly a Best Western.
If you liked it at the same beach -- the rooms are nicer there than IS.Beachcomber - a pool and bar - call direct is my 1st choice - others may have better ideas on that.
look into Olgas Fancy if you want to be near Frenchtown instead of beachfront for just one night.

Lots of steps at Olga's Fancy.
Has the advantage of being very close to CYOA in Frenchtown.

And walking distance -- from the BVI ferry and to a great choice of food and venues.

Is there a specific reason you want to be on Lindbergh Beach? Lots of places on the east end with lots of bars and restaurants. For example, you can look at Harbour Beach Villas.

We loved Olga's Fancy when we stayed 1 night in March...however...yes...lots of steps. We schlepped far too heavy of suitcases ( I know, I know...carry on is all you need smile That being said, the rooms are spotless..the beds, super comfortable and a 3 minute walk to Frenchtown. That being said, we spent our last few hours on STT at Emerald Beach Resort bar right off the beach
and looking at the grounds alone, thought it might be great last night stay place. Then, it's a what?....15 minute walk to the airport?

Thanks for all of your input and suggestions. I will start searching for the best price for Emerald Beach. What's weird is that the EB web page gives one price, but since I visited the web page, FaceBook knows it, and I got a post with "price drop in St. Thomas" and the room rates are much higher for EB, even with the price drop...

It is behind Secret Harbour Beach, up on the hill.

We like staying an Emerald Beach because of the short cab ride from the ferry and then a walk or short cab ride to the airport. I stay in the pool, soaking up the last bit of sun until about 1/2 hour before I have to be at the airport.

Well, that makes sense. Whenever we take people to the airport, we stop at Island Beach Comber so they can have one for the road and visit the beach.
