Everyone is safe from Sonesta Maho, however, there is severe damage to the building. I'm still waiting to here about the Royal Islander though.

We were due to arrive on October 14th. With all the flooding and power issues, that's clearly not gonna happen. Hoping my travel insurance is going to refund the $1500 plane tickets.
MORE IMPORTANTLY: BOTH THE FRENCH AND THE NETHERLANDS RED CROSS ARE SEEKING DONATIONS. TIME TO GIVE GENEROUSLY TO HELP THIS BEAUTIFUL ISLAND RECOVER.

We left Tuesday morning and are waiting to hear from friends who stayed. Saw video from idiot I believe who was on his balcony at RI LaPlage, and pool area still looked intact. Heard from lady on plane that also just left wedding party at Sonesta that remaining guests were being moved to medical shelter.

Earlier today the Sonesta site said they had all evacuated over to La Plage, as it was safer. So that says something.

I found several photos of the Sonesta on Twitter by typing in Sonesta Maho in the search bar. You can see the street view of the Royal Islander in at least one of the photos, which looks ok as far as the structure, from that view. I would post a link, but not sure how to do it.

omg...just joined pirates.....there is places on the exterior of sonesta that you can see through!!!!! exterior collapsed.

In the video I posted above there is a brief view of RI in the fly over. It's still standing but you can not access damage.
