Arrived in Culebrita. Called the # CaptJay gave me to clear in and used our "Local Boaters" options to clear in Paul & myself. Had the decal, so non issue. Used Ashley & Kevins passports to clear them in. Whole process took less than 5 min. They did ask if we had any food, fruits, or vegetables onboard. No of course, we threw away all our provisions before we arrived. ;( They never asked about pets to we chose the "don't ask, don't tell" method.

Spent a great afternoon in Bahia Tortuga on Culebrita. The the bees showed up. Sat having cocktails on the bow while killing the numerous bees that we were told were looking for water. Quiet night as most of the other boats left.

Playa Flamenco. bad news. We have always gone there and pulled the dink up on the beach and then walked the beach with LuSea and then gone to the parking lot to visit the local food vendors. No dinks allowed anymore. No dogs. No signs stating the above. Walk the beach to find the policia waiting at our dink and being told by the beach vendors that they are going to tow it off the beach. We head to the dink, apologize and state that it had never been a problem before this visit. No go, and we are off to Cattitude for lunch. No lunch from the vendors.

Head to the west end of Culebra for the night. Mooring balls are becoming scarce and many in poor shape. A huge change from past visits. Spend the night and in the morning off to Vieques - Green Beach.

Caught 3 barracudas along the way. Mooring balls in terrible shape at Green Beach. We anchor. Take a dinghy ride to shore and walk to the north tip. The beach has certainly taken a beating from the hurricanes last year.

Next morning head to Sun Bay and rent a car from Martineau car rental. We visit the bunkers and the radar array and the 375 year old Cibia tree. Back to Cattitude after cocktails at Lazy Jacks.

Up early and head to Isabel Segunda. Visit the fort. Unfortunately, they no longer show any video and that was a huge dissapointment. Drove out to the food truck by the beachs "Sol Food" to find it was closed. Bummer. Headed to Esperanze and had a terrific lunch at a new place called Bili. PR food. Turned in the car and had the driver stop at the local Comalda for Heilo (ice).

From Sun Bay we headed to Puerto Ferro (the Other bio bay) for the night. Ran into friends of Catatonics. The bio bays are certainly losing their glow. But, Ashley and Kevin jumped in after dark and we impressed by the glow in the water from their movements. Every year that we have headed over there, it is less and less spectacular. Very sad.

Early out and headed back to Culebra. Anchored off Playa Grande Tamarindo. Nice relaxing day. Swimming, snorkeling and kayaking.

Next day anchored off the south end of the canal at Dewey and dinked to Mamacita's. Yes! they are open for food. The only thing closed, was their rental rooms that are being renovated. Walked thru town, bought LuSea a new travel bag and a few trinkets. Had a great meal at Mamacita's and off to Culebrita for the night.

Only us and one other boat in Bahia Tortuga for the night and the bees were gone.

Back to the USVI. 7 days is way too short to do the SPVI properly.

Biggest dissapointments: 1. the lack of maintenance on the mooring balls. When we visited in 2004,5,8,9, and 10 there were plenty and they were in good shape.
2. bio bay losing its lights.
Guess tourism had done its damage already.
