Good for him! He has a deep connection to St. Barts. Although he says he's encouraging travel to St. Barts with a free concert, the people who normally go to St. Barts probably don't need free! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />
It certainly wasn't free, but I can say that the Jimmy Buffett, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney concert in Tallahassee was the best concert we've ever been to!!

I just scored tickets to JB and the Eagles in Orlando in April. I've been to many Buffett concerts, been a fan forever but my first Eagles.

Wow, that's an odd combination, I think! I would enjoy it though. Love the Eagles too! Where is the concert?

There may well be a special ferry that makes a roundtrip just for the concert. That would be the way to go, if you could. As otherwise, you'd also have to find someplace to stay on St Barts, which I assume would be hard just for one night.

Can't remember the name, but we used to hit the bar/restaurant on SBH associated with Buffett and also one time got very close to the house on the private beach that he owned on the island. Used to know SBH like the back of my hand. Our first trip was 30 years ago and when mini-mokes were the standard way of getting around.

There are new Mini-Mokes now, made in China I think.

Around 7 or 8 yrs ago when JB put on a free concert in St Barts, we took two fast boats over that were chartered for the concert by groups. When we got over there, we found a lot of chartered boats had gone over from SXM too. It was packed with people. I can only imagine how crowded it will be Christmas week!

I used to LOVE the creperie in Gustavia. They knew how to make a real galette.

Charlie, Le Crêperie a block up from Le Select, is still there. It has changed hands a few times, but it is still going strong. I had lunch there a few weeks ago. Crêpe Jambon Fromage (Ham and Cheese Crêpe), and Salted Caramel Ice Cream for dessert. Very nice.
Autour du Rocher is still a ruin. It lost some more roof to Irma, not that it had much left.
As to the concert, I don't know if the Coral Reefers will be there. I've heard a few local musician's names mentioned. Should be a good time though - his past concerts on the quay have been.

Camping World stadium. He is doing a few dates with them including Miami @ the Dolphins stadium. He got his start opening for the Eagles so this is fitting.

I just looked through more of our old pictures from Buffett in 09. The link to Rafting Adventures at sailingsxm.com no longer works. But, I did see in another picture that the Golden Eagle was a tour boat that went over for the concert. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_R...St_Maarten.html I don't know how many other catamarans survived the hurricane.

Thanks - I messaged them. Do you remember what time The concert was in 09? My entire family wants to try to do this, but we don’t land on SXM until 3:00. I keep telling them it won’t happen!!!

We used Great Bay Express ferry service from Bobby's Marina in 2009. I just called them and they are considering doing a special ferry for the concert but they are not sure yet. I think that the more people that give them a call regarding the special ferry, the greater the chance of them adding the special ferry for the concert.

anyone know if there might be a charter plane going between Barbados and St Barths for the show? <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" /> We were supposed to be in SBH during that time but we changed our travel plans to Barbados because of the hurricane...we've looked at commercial flights for getting to SBH for the show, but too iffy and complicated

The Eagle Tours cat is currently scheduled for an 11AM departure from SXM and an 11PM departure from St. Barts (times may change depending on the final announced time of the concert). One negative is that the approximate transit time is 2 hours each way. I also called Great Bay Express today and they said that they currently do not have any plans for a special ferry for the concert.

Contact Voyager and see if they will add a trip.
Or, pool your $ with others and take Yannis taxi service Water Taxi Service St Maarten Taxi boat (one way before 6pm): 1,200€* Taxi boat (one way after 6pm): 1,400€*

You could also see what the boat out of Anguilla could do. I know I've used them, as has your Mom. Uncertain how they fared in Irma though. http://www.gbferries.com/otherservices.html

Time confirmed as 9PM. If you're on FB you can find the official announcement of the "Concert de Solidarité" on the Collectivité's FB page: https://www.facebook.com/comstbarth/phot...5622889/?type=3

An update: Great Bay Ferry has a 5:00pm ferry going over but not returning until the next day. They state the issue is having someone after 5:00pm for immigration. Voyager out of Marigot has ferries going over after 5:00 but no return until next day. I have spoken with Aqua Mania and they said the Edge is not going and they don’t have any cats going. As previously stated. We can’t make the Eagle. And Scoobi Too said they won’t be going. Officially giving up!! Was really hoping one of the ferries would be running a special trip.

Thanks - yes I heard from them. I need a much later crossing. That’s my issue. I asked if they could just bring us back and due to immigration they couldn’t do one ways.

Is the immigration issue on St Barts? Or SXM?
I know many times Anguilla (granted it's a whole other place) have opened up and accommodated late arrivals. Of course I believe there's a bit of a "fee"....i.e if you take a private boat over for dinner.
Don't any of your famous friends have a couch you could sleep on in St Barts for the night? Or maybe the yacht Oprah or Ellen will be on? lol <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

There aren't many villas on St Jean, so that would be a nice treat. If you can get to SBH, then stay over, and take the Voyager ferry back the next day.
