That timetable doesn't surprise me at all, considering it will take until fall to fix the roof and then they will start inside, which has to be gutted.

Agreed. It's just that it won't be ready for the beginning of next busy season. Unfortunate but understandable.

The article said the roof has to be ready by the start of hurricane season, which is June 1st. It will just take another year after that to clean up the inside. Hopefully once they rebuild the inside, they will configure it so US bound flights can be segregated from all others and get US C&I pre-clearance up and running.

That is the start but the atlantic season is the one that affects SXM and that is usually an August start.

Our hurricane season is June 1st to November 30th.

The peak starts in August, but as BillandElaine said, the season starts June 1st. SXM has been hit by 2 storms in July since records were kept.
