Our 6th day on SXM was active & fun – I made it down to le Sucriere for pastries once again. Don went to water aerobics while I went down to answer some emails. When we got back to the unit they were there in full force, to bring in the new appliances & furniture – I won’t bore you all with the details here, I will do a separate post for those who own at the Flamingo. To say I question the skill & expertise of their interior decorator is not an understatement.

We then booked on out of here to go to P’burg even though there were 4 big ships in port. I had read that even with all the ships P’burg wasn’t busy & that’s the truth. Yeah, there people on the streets but not so many you couldn’t walk into any store & get service. Had some Pandora shopping to do, along with perfume. Then we made it down to DK Gems where of course I succumbed to a natural pearl necklace I totally do not need. But it is a classy piece that will be noticed. Deepti looked fabulous, Kamal, Jeff & Raj as well. We looked thru Kamal’s wedding pictures – what a celebration!!!! Business looked to be pretty good with a goodly amount of repeat customers. We parked at Bobby Marina & walked down Front Street.

After P’burg we drove around the island to Marigot – no way was I driving down the mountain again. We stopped for a late lunch at La Belle Époque – I like the new location – lots of seating inside out of the sun, and seats for about 30 outside, with 18 of those in the sun. They have an awning, but it didn’t help cut the sun at all. And the inside feels like the outside cuz all the doors were open and the whole front of the restaurant is a wall of doors. I was told they moved cuz the lease was up at the corner location & they wouldn’t’/couldn’t (not sure which) do the renovations they needed inside the building.

We then stopped at Laguna Blue, where I buy all my Murano glass jewelry. I bought one necklace & put another one aside, but I wanted him to design some earrings to match and we really didn’t want to wait. We plan to go back to the Marina & have dinner one night at the Tropicana – we haven’t been in years & after stopping & talking to them we decided to give it another go – they will escort you out to your car if you want, which I do.

Traffic came to a dead stop at the end of the runway at 5:45 pm & it took us 30 minutes to make it to Billy Folly Rd. Got more coconut ice cream so Don is happy & I spent money so I’m happy. Tomorrow is back to Orient if the weather holds out. Having way too much fun!
