http://bvinews.com/new/seaweed-causing-ferry-dock-stink-stench-welcoming-visitors/

http://bvibeacon.com/seeking-solutions-to-smelly-sargassum/

The sargassum seems to be invading. Other than Road Town and Great Camanoe (Low Bay), where else should we expect to find it.

Is the stench bad enough to avoid the Marina Cay moorings??

Hopefully not with E/SE winds..

It was getting bad before the bridge to Frenchman's Cay and on the south shore road before Pockwood Pond heading east.

Maybe the upcoming northerly 'swell' will clear it out before our trip in a few weeks....

There is plenty of it everywhere. Trellis has a lot. We flew out of EIS this afternoon, and you can see it everywhere on the way to Puerto Rico.

Unfortunately it hit Cooper Island as well we're staying at the hotel but it doesn't hinder us from doing anything poor guy cleaning it up yesterday and today they were burying it.

I'd put a pic but when I click on the what looks like add a pic icon it asks for a link to an URL image is there not a way to just insert a picture in your post?

I can't get to your URL. It says I don't have permission.

If you have the pic in Google Drive then you likely need to share -> create link -> then paste it here. It might be easier to post the image to a free image hosting site like this one and then either embed the link or paste the link here:

@ndfaninnc - You got it.... and if you wanted to have the image displayed 'in-line' with your comment, you just click on the 'Insert Image Link' in the editor and paste the 'direct link' url from postimg:

The only place on VG is right next to the intake to the desal plant at Handsome Bay - but you would never sail there anyway.

I think a good investment would be to buy a boat/machine that can cleanup the seaweed and rent it back to the government with payment in advance in cash. I would be willing to do this. Got to be a big money maker.

Relax the seaweed is nature’s way of fertilizing the reefs and shore line.

Here’s your boat machine. Ready for purchase:

Not a bad idea actually. If I was retired might consider it.
