I know it may be a bit early, but is there any thoughts or rumors as to how many businesses will be closing for vacation this year? Personally I think with the loss of tourists due to Irma, most open for this year at least.

I think there's honestly no way to know this year. Traditionally, a lot of businesses on the French side closed in September and October but many of those still haven't reopened from the hurricane, so I expect they probably won't open at all until after the hurricane season is over. Many businesses on the French side are just shooting for November/December. Other than some notable exceptions like Bikini, I don't expect much to reopen on the French side until after hurricane season, and there's honestly not a lot open in Grand Case now, in particular. Some businesses have announced closings in July and now a lot of places seem to be closed on Monday. Right now, it's very hard to predict what will happen.
