Day 6: lazy morning with light am shower. Breakfast of fresh zee best baguette, butter, jam, and fresh fruit. Went to baie rouge at noon. 2 chairs and umbrella $15. Windy and high waves, but beautiful day. Had late lunch at chez raymaud(sp)- little language barrier but finally showed up with something in the area of what we ordered. Had cheeseburger, chicken kebabs, beans and rice, potato salad, fried squash, and mixed salad. With 1 fou-fou drink and 1 corona $34 and good. Lots of sand gravity. When we got ready to leave, several tweenish and teenish aged boys around parking lot. One said to ask for him “venus” when we came back and he would take care of us. Not sure what that meant- any thoughts? We just smiled and said ok. Back to happy hour at sapphire. Dinner at chez becky and john’s: grilled ribeye, sautéed mushrooms and asparagus, mixed salad and cheesecake from gourmet marche cupecoy- this is a handy little market for us. Coctails on balcony.

Day 7: brunch of grand marche escargot and baguette. Then to aqua mania for chaser boat ride. This is a really fun thing to do if you’re there during the Heineken regatta. It is a fairly good sized boat with large open and covered areas that follow along with the race boats during a 2 ½ hr period. We got really close to the action. Good music, open bar with rum punch, beers, sodas. There are 2 boats- ours was the tango. Captain and crew great. It was supposed to be $35/person and their website gave a 10& discount to TTOL visitors when booking online. When we went to pay, they said the 10% pertained to our NEXT excursion with them and would not honor the discount even though I had the computer printout. False advertising if you ask me, but still a fun time. Whatcha gonna do? Stopped at zee best for goodies -to-go. Happy hour at sapphire and dinner at chez becky and john’s again: seasoned, pan-seared chicken breast with sauce of white wine, shallots, cream, and butter; salad and baguette. Coctails and coconut ice cream on balcony, then night-night time.

Day 8: zee best ham and swiss croissants for breakfast. Went to porto cupecoy where they advertise a Saturday morning farmer’s market from 8-noon. Were a couple of jewelry vendors, couple of art vendors, and 1 produce stand- bought some corn-on-cob and mangos. Oh well, beautiful morning on their marina. Since we did a rci exchange and were staying 11 nights, they had to do 2 separate bookings. So we had to move today. We moved directly below our present unit to rm 336. Pretty much the same, but had queen bed in master and king bed in other room. Kitchen/living area slightly larger. Went to sunset beach bar around 1230 and found loungers- were told that someone would come around for money. Got a few beers and did the very touristy videoing of the big planes. Saw some awesome wipeouts of people and belongings! It is fun - did not see any “free drinks” women LOL. Talked to some fun people and had good beach afternoon. Left at 5pm and nobody ever asked for chair money- did we steal? To sapphire for happy hour and watch the sunset- forgot to mention that we enjoyed the sunsets every evening during happy hours- just beautiful out over the sea.. Dinner in again: mesquite-marinated beef kebabs with grilled corn, eggplant, mushrooms, and grape tomatoes. Coctails on balcony- another great day.
