things also for the grill:corn on the cobb, veggie kabobs, potatoes (wrap in tin foil)
warm sides: any type of bean (baked beans, chili beans, etc)
cool sides: potatoe salad, coleslaw, fruit salad, mac salad, chips (if you're trying to avoid plates/forks/spoons skip the salads, potatoes & beans, go for large pieces of fruit & small bags of chips)
easy handheld dessert: cupcakes, cookies, brownies

Agree with all the above and would add Fire and Ice Tomatoes, Cucumber and Onion Salad, and any kind of Cobbler for dessert.
