We've had plenty rain since Kirk went by a couple of weeks ago and the island is lush. Lake Mullet exists on the road through the golf course. I don't know about the beach because I never go there. Twice in the last two weeks the sea was washing up to the building at Mary's Boon.

There is a system Tropical Depression 15 moving across but the cone shows it curving more North. Still needs to be watched! Prays to those in Florida and areas in Hurricane Michael's path.
Leslie is a very strange storm, been hanging around for what, two weeks? Going back to Africa, yes, and then it is headed back west!!! Nadine appears to be no threat, as you said, which is good..
Looking at the Maho Beach Cam and I can’t believe how green everything looks. I don’t remember seeing it that green ever! Must be getting plenty of rain!
It doesn't take much rain to green the island up. But we've had quite a bit over the last two weeks. Couple of good showers already today. Our island is quite lush just now!

We were on St. John for Lenny, on a Virginia State Bar trip. The tour organizer didn't want a bunch of lawyers suing them, I guess, so they got us all out, the day before Lenny hit.
Yes, we were lucky. Funny, we had travelled to the Caribbean for YEARS in September and October and never had any issue with a storm, until Lenny, which was in November..
With us, we never went in Sept. or Oct. because of hurricanes. Always went in Nov. (our anniversary month) and who would have figured a hurricane in mid Nov, very rare.
We arrived yesterday to steady downpours of rain. Made it difficult to land as we were in a holding pattern for about 20 minutes on Jet Blue. Luggage was a bit wet but going thru security was quick.
Met Leslie at the airport. He who was running around, umbrella and all providing his usual prompt and courteous service. Unloaded our luggage at our condo and went for groceries in the pouring rain. Roads were very flooded. Expected more rain today but awoke to glorious sunshine this morning. Sun and clouds today and that's all it takes to begin the start of a wonderful 2 week vacation.
As we all know, don't pay too much attention to predicted weather forecasts. It can change on a dime.
I remember the first time we stayed at Beachside, we had to ask how to turn the oven on! They were surprised, as very few people use the oven there! I don't remember how to use the TV now, but Eric probably remembers. Regardless, hope for your sake that you have lots of sunshine, as it seems that finally the island has caught up on rain, after being very low for quite a while..
