Day 1 (August 8) - The journey
Wake up early at Hyatt Orlando International after driving down from Tallahassee the night before. We arrive down at the TSA stand at just after 6 a.m. Only a few hours until the first Carib!
No wait to get past the first checkpoint, but it takes a good 20 minutes to get to walk through the metal detectors. Parker, our 11 y.o. gets flagged for the TSA auto check. No problem. Guess the big bag of Skittles will get through. Our 14 y.o. son got flagged on the way back from Barbados in June and they went through all his possessions.
On to Miami – quick run to La Carreta to buy Cubans for lunch on the plane, then St Thomas. Always love hassle free flights. We arrive on the ground 15 minutes early. This really good. The 2 p.m. ferry is now a possibility.
It was time for the Cruzan samples on the way to the baggage check. Each adult grabbed banana and mango shooter and we were on vacation and our DD passed hers to me.
The cabbie took us a different route to Red Hook. Guess with Allure and Disney Dream in port he stayed away from some of their traffic. Pulling in into Red Hook, my watch says 1:55. We can make the 2 pm ferry, so no time for a cold Carib.
We were the last on board and off we go.
Nancy the manager of our villa,
Blue Agave meets us at the ferry dock.
She'll take 3 of our crew and luggage to the villa while the other two grab our Jeep [img]

Conrad Sutton Jeep Rental then off to Starfish for some light provisioning. Everyone wanted to go into Cruz Bay for dinner.
The weather is cloudy, looking like rain any minute, so no trip to the beach this afternoon, just hang at the pool and enjoy the views. Blue Agave is located minutes from Cruz Bay overlooking Chocolate Hole and Hart Bay. The villa has the best outdoor living space. Essentially four master bedrooms, one upstairs with awesome views and three down. The villa website has some great sun bathed photos and I’ll add a few others.

No sunset today, so we loaded up and headed to High Tide for a bite. Great dinner and after walking around downtown after, the crew was ready to head for the hill after the long day for a little star gazing and night time swim for the kids.
