Hey All! Catching up, been busy on the island. Saturday we had to stick close to our condo as we had a unit switch during the day. Spent the day at the pool that was completely ours as many departed this wonderful island. We also were still relaxing in the pool area as many new faces arrived with smiles. Our lunch this day was uneventful as it was a day of cleaning out the refrigerator. At night we returned to the French and stopped at Tropicana and the Gutside Restaurants but confirmed they both were not open. We even thought of heading to Captain Olivers for the Saturday evening lobster buffet but were told that may be closed so we headed back to Grand Case to L'Effert Mer and this was a great choice. It was a nice breezy evening seated next to the water. We enjoyed their 3 course price fix at 36 dollars which began as lobster soup with foie gras ravoli and a seared scallop surrounded by a shitake cream as appetizers. Next we had for entrees house made gnocchis with vegetables that were surprizingly light and delicious. Also rare tuna with a delicious vegetables underneath. Portions are just right, not large but oh so satisfying in the taste. We added a cheese course of goat cheese ice cream, goat cheese and fruit yogurt and a fried goat cheese ball over greens this trio "Wowed" us. Dessert was warm pineapples with syrup with ice cream and another with a trio of creme brulees. It was one of our best meals on the island and we placed this restaurant on the top of our not to miss list. Priced at only 120 dollars for the evening. Service was friendly and so nice. Please do not miss this restaurant. Note: we parked in the free lit parking lot greeted by the usual man who asked for 3 dollars, we told him it was free, he then asked for 1 dollar and we said maybe when we returned. During dinner it rained hard so when we went for our car he was gone.
On the drive home we went to Hollywood Casino and won a little used our match play coupons from our SXM card, better than giving donations to the casino.
Yesterday we awoke to a grey day as Leslie is churning out in the open waters and not over us. With the sun not out and the ocean rising we walked about and happened to meet a very nice couple from the states getting married her today which is our anniversary. We offered to take them on a free island tour for an hour and a half but it ran into a four hour tour. We showed them many beaches and stopped for drinks at a We saw pigs, cows, goats, and even an iguana crossing, truly several crossing the road. We had lunch with our new friends at Taco Macho which use to be a lunch truck in Simpson Bay but moved to a permanent location near the Dunes Casino. We all had a variety of mexican eats wehich were delicious and inexpensive and more drinks, also a complimentary shot. They seem to be doing a very good businees there. The sun peaked out late in the day so we hit the pool and then the evening took us to Pineapple Pete's and we ordered as an appetizer coquille st. jacques and a wahoo cerviche that started the dinner nicely and then the lobster thermadore and grilled rib eye special both were very good. We shared one creme burlee and a frozen mojito. Pierre and the rest of the staff there are very friendly and attentive. Ronny Santana on guitar provided the nightly music. They surprized us with a sparkler and two glasses of champange for our anniversary which is actually today. Pineapple Pete continues to provide great food at very reasonable prices and should not be missed as a casual dining experience. We they returned some of our previous night winnings back to the Hollywood Casino....... <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />
